Hajra learns about the power of Dua
Hajra came downstairs and saw her mum crying. “Mama, why are you crying?” Her mum quickly wiped away her tears when she saw her daughter, “it’s nothing Hajra, don’t you worry.”
Hajra was feeling hungry so she went to the fridge and opened it. She saw that there was no food inside. Suddenly, Hajra remembered her mum telling her grandma that she had lost her job last week. That’s why Mama was crying, thought Hajra.
Hajra went upstairs to her room and sat down. She lifted her hands so her palms faced upwards and she closed her eyes tightly. “Allah, please help us,” she said as she asked Allah to help her and her mum. She cried to Allah and told Him it made her feel so sad to see her mum crying and to see that there was no food in the fridge. She didn’t want to be hungry…
“Allah, please help us,” she kept saying with tears rolling down her cheeks, “please help us Allah.” After a while, Hajra decided to go downstairs to find her mum, only to hear a knock at the front door.
“Assalamu alaikum, I’m Mrs Malik,” the lady at the front door said, as she held a big box in her arms. “I’m so sorry, you placed an order from my food business a few months ago, but because of personal reasons I haven’t been able to deliver it. Unfortunately, this is now my last delivery as I can’t run this business anymore,” the lady explained, as she handed over the box.
“As a way of saying sorry for taking so long to deliver your parcel, I would like to give you all the food that we have left for the business. It is about 3 months worth of food,” the lady went to her car and brought back 2 more huge boxes. Hajra’s mum was in shock, “it’s okay, you don’t have to do that!”
“No please, I want to,” said Mrs Malik. “Besides, now that I can’t run the business anymore, all the food will go to waste otherwise.”
Hajra and her mum were both in shock! Hajra remembered her Dua (prayer) and was so so happy that Allah had listened to her Dua and helped her and her mum! “Alhamdulillah (all praise be to Allah),” she whispered as her mum and Mrs Malik took the boxes inside.
From that day on, whenever Hajra had a problem she always did Dua to Allah because now she knew how powerful making Dua was and she knew that Allah listens to our Duas and helps us when we ask Him for help.
Moral of the story:
Duas are very powerful. Whenever you need help, pray to Allah and make Dua. It doesn’t matter how big your problem is, Allah is always there for you.
