Asad learns to be positive
Asad was always worrying about things. Whenever someone told him about something, he began to worry.
What if something bad happened and it was too much for him to handle? Asad couldn’t help it, he was always worrying.
One day he heard his mum and dad talking about something that sounded serious. Oh no, thought Asad, I wonder what has happened.
“What’s the matter? Has something happened?” Asad’s parents spun round to see him stood there, looking worried.
“Nothing has happened, don’t worry,” said his dad. “You shouldn’t worry so much beta.”
“I can’t help it,” said Asad, tearfully. His parents could see that he was getting upset.
“It’s okay Asad, don’t cry. Listen carefully, there is a line in the Quran in Surah Baqarah and it says:
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear” [Quran 2:286].”
“Wow, do you know what this means? It means Allah will never let you go through something that you can’t handle. Ever,” Asad’s mum said with a smile on her face as she comforted her son.
“Just remember that Allah will never make you go through something that is too much for you to deal with. So don’t worry, my son. Whatever happens, Allah knows you are strong enough to get through it, every single time, In Shaa Allah.”
“Try to be positive and think about the good things. Everything will always be fine, In Shaa Allah, because Allah is with you,” Asad’s mum continued.
This made Asad feel happy. He realised he didn’t need to worry so much because Allah was always with him. Asad made a promise to himself that he would try to stop worrying and that he would try to be more positive.
Moral of the story
Try to be positive. Remember, “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear” [Quran 2:286]. Whatever happens, Allah knows you are strong enough to get through it, every single time, In Shaa Allah.
